Copyright 2010 StormShutterServices.com Roll Down Shutters are without a doubt the easiest, most convenient and useful form of  Hurricane Protection. The concept of a Rolling Shutter came from Europe. Early version  slats were made of light aluminum or PVC material. These  earlier versions (in fact up until around 2003) required vertical  reinforcement bars to be places in the centers to prevent the  slat from dislodging out of the side track during high winds.  We did many repairs in Punta Gorda after Hurricane Charley  hit, many because people neglected to install the storm bars.  Thankfully storm bars are a thing of the past. End retention  with extruded aluminum technology allows for spans up to 24  feet without reinforcement bars. No more blocked views by  ugly aluminum bars. While not completely water tight, Roll Shutters offer the best  protection from rain of all the various types of Hurricane protection. For applications  where water needs to be prevented from running underneath Roll Down Shutters we can  install a rain guard. Adding an electric motor, along with various other options, such as  remote and keypad control makes Roll Down Shutters the  ultimate in Storm and Security protection convenience. Every  motorized shutter we install is equipped with a manual over  ride in case electricity is ever lost. Available colors are white,  ivory, beige and bronze. Custom colors for hoods and tracks  are also available, slat however cannot be repainted and is  only available in those four standard colors.  Top Down View Of Track With End Retention Slat Extruded Aluminum Slat - End Retention Slat Lock End Retention Track - End View Create Your Own Estimate Click Here StormShutterServices.com Hurricane - Storm - Security - Protection Fabrication - Installation - Service Serving Cape Coral - Fort Myers - Naples - Port Charlotte and surrounding communities. “27 Years Of Owner Construction Experience”
